Due to unforeseen factors, not of his own making, Rob Anderson offers the cream of his stock lofts to the fancy.
A lack of time , resulting in him being unable to race his 2021 team (still at the lofts) – and space issues accruing from an inability to train his current teams means that Rob has reluctantly had to sell this years crop of YB’s, despite his wish that he could train and race them.
This is a sale, not an auction – and so will be treated as a first come / first served sale, due to the nature of the limited availability of the livestock. If you “bid” on a kit of birds, they will be yours immediately and an invoice will be emailed to you. We can accept payment via Card or Bank Transfer.
Boasting a stock loft that most people would be proud to own, and the many thousands spent on birds over the years – it is our pleasure to offer kits of Sprint, Sprint/Middle and Distance birds directly from the single pen breeding facility of the Anderson lofts. These birds are based in Scotland and are available to collect or deliver via the Walkers Network in either the UK or Ireland.
The kits are sold as Sprint, Middle or Distance based – in lots of 6 or 10 young birds. – they are priced to sell, as these must be moved on, the kits boast ancestry from the following colonies of stockbirds ;
It was only last year 2021, that Rob decided to sell race kits from his top quality Bulcks, Heremans and Lambrechts. Boy what a performance from the 1st year.
From this small number of kits he has had reported, 5 birds in the top 30 in the Lanarkshire fed young bird Derby, along with numerous club winners, section winners and many top open fed prizes including several in the top 10.
This year he has more kits available and what class parents we are talking about. One pen has a niece of Kittle paired to a son of King Rossi. This makes all these young ones g/children of King Rossi and we all know how good a breeder of race winning birds as g/children he is.
The Bulck Leo Heremans crosses are Nephews and nieces of Kittle, they are inbred out of Olympic Rosita when paired to her own son. There are Grandchildren of Super Sprint Katu. They have been crossed with children of Kade, Lilly, King Rossi, Leo’s Girl and G/children of Den Euro, Euro Diamond, Jackpot Olympiad 03, Euro Lady, and the supreme Euro hen Niewu Olympiad.
For the 1st time Rob will be offering Kits from his superb Gaston Van De Wouwer birds.
They are from the very best KAASBOER lines surely one of the very best breeders in the world with his descendants winningat all levels both Nationally and around the world including OLR’s in China and car winners in South Africa OLR’s.
Lines included are Barbra, Tasamina and Snow Queen.
Possibly the greatest ever family of Irish National racing pigeons, they have scored winners into Ireland for nearly 100 years. Everyone that introduced Walkingshaw bloodlines into their loft has had success. Some notable Walkingshaw based birds for other fanciers are
HERMES the greatest ever Kings cup racer with 2 Hall of Fame awards and a Gold Medal – winner at 7 times in the prizes from the Kings cup in good weather and bad.
PORTAVOGIE LASS Millar Gold cup winner and the only bird home into Ireland from all organisations on the day from Dinard.
No fewer than 6 INFC Kings cup winners have been Walkingshaw based birds although neither Arthur or Billy managed to win the Kings cup, they had many notable results stretching back to 1930.
The Walkingshaw pigeons were originally based on Barker pigeons that could be traced back to Northrop Barker himself when Arthur raced in Workington Cumberland between 1905 and 1910. The most successful lines crossed into the family were the famous GALABANK blood from the late John Kirkpatrick. Wherever they obtained birds from, they abided by one very strict rule, they never bred from a bird unless it had flown successfully from France.
When I asked Rob about his Walkingshaw family this is what he told me “The crazy thing about the Walkingshaws is, my uncle Harry had the family of them for so long and I never even looked at them. It wasn’t until 2010 when he was moving house and the birds were housed at another lads loft, I was over to pick up some of my Van Reet stock birds. I said what’s those dark chq wf’s, reds and mealies in the aviaries. The lad gave me some to handle and well they were awesome birds in the hand and I ended up taking most of them back to Scotland. Dear knows why I had never looked at them all that time. Probably the name put me off, as we would always say Irish channel pigeons were old slow hard pigeons. Boy was I wrong, they won immediately for us here. Even won the 1st five sprint races in the club with Walkingshaws. They have won prizes for me and many others throughout Scotland and Ireland from Club to open National results from France.”
I have 2022 Young bird racing kits available now from my Walkingshaw stock birds. These breed my own racers so you will get from my very best Walkingshaw blood. My family is bred from those I inherited from my Uncle, plus from the good Ash hen from Duddy of Ballyclare dam of 5 x 1st open Section B NIPA, she herself was inbred to the great HERMES. I also have birds bred from a Daughter of PORTAVOGIE LASS that I owned. Finally birds from Edgar & Daughters, top class performance Walkingshaws. If you want hard day distance birds bred for purpose these are for you 110 years of genetics is seldom wrong.
